Jakýkoliv jiný zvuk v bytě mě dokázal vyděsit k smrti a fakt jsem měla problémy usnout./Soo apparently I have the whole flat all by myself for a week. Well, that was nicely refreshing and cheerful , especcialy having a chance to study in a living room, chatting with turtle- until I got into a point during the night and realized that I am actually all by myself. And at this point, I started visualizing all of the horror -terrific pictures of Chucky-the killer or any kind of Poltregeist/ Paranormal Activity appearance. I had a reall struggles to fall asleep actually, even though everyone expects from me to be a big girl now (pfff). Sice vidím už nápis CÍL, svého maratónu před sebou, ale tenhle týden jsem běh změnila v chůzi a prokrastinaci jsem brala jako jasnou věc, která je lidská, je potřeba a už jsem nevydržela ji obcházet./ I was enjoying turtle babysitting at home and when I wasn´t at home,I kept going to school in times, when there was no light yet, but it was absolutely stunning to watch the sunrise of Den Haag from the school´s library. I had no breath, no more. I´ve already started seeing the "FINISH" sign of my 5 months long marathon right in front of me, but this week I had to stop running and slowed down into walking. The procrastination got my back and told me to stop, not only because it was procrastination, more it was likely to be human and I just had to take my time to digest all of the information, I´ve been studying about. I love wrapping presents, but I feel an absolute hatred towards Dutch Christmas wrap papers-none expects from you to make an origami creation ?! Klíčová skupina naší generace se kterou jsme vyrostli pořádá poslední turné a my budeme u toho!!!!/ The message of the week! Jon is going to make another dream come true! We are about to see Coldplay´s concert live at Wembleyyyy. The date will symbolise a life adventure, for sure. To see Coldplay, performing live is like for my dad to see The Queen, or for my mum ABBA performing live as well. Coldplay is a band of our generation, that we grew up with and we will be there, present!!! / A part of the procrastination was another Delft visit with my Morroccan friend. It was absolutely terrible weather, but we made most of it anyway at the Christmas Markets. Sadly, there was not so much to see, when it was chucking down, but we found the absolute best stand with homemade cupcakes! Oh please, you must check them out, because I was absolutely melting, when I got to try one of their red velvet toppings!! The ladies were incredibly friendly and the service looks to be working very well as well! Wish them luck and click and click: Piece of Cake! A classical turistic attraction, where you can wear Dutch clothes from the past and get some pictures from a very home made photo atelier. Well even I had to pay for taking pictures of the actual store, not any people...oh well. So it was on Friday, when I had my favourite last lecture of Arts and Globalisation. Than I had a time until 9pm, until Jon will arrive, so I became the café lounger for the rest of the day. When Jon arrived and I was topped with caffeine, had to show him "our" Den Haag´s parrots, right in the center. Finally got an opportunity to take some more proper pictures, we were so lucky! VÍKEND/ The weekend Vylézám ze své učící jeskyně a užívám si nabitého dne, plného výletování. Navštívili jsme obrovskou katedrálu, pár kaváren a hned poté odjeli do Amsterdamu./ Finally, getting out of my cave and ready to enjoy the weekend full of trips. Saturday was about Christmas markets in Haarlem- wonderful Christmas spirit, better than in Delft, actually! Beautiful place, with beautiful people. Got a chance to taste my first surinameese lunch and stroopwaffle liquer! Than it was time to leave for the second part of the day to Amsterdam! Jon to nevydržel a já ho nechtěla trápit. Ale dlouho jsme se tak nenasmáli. Další a poslední zastávka v Amsterdamu byl City Light Festival./ A plan for the Amsterdam was quite clear: to visit the Modern Art museum. The rain was unstoppable - annoying, but we found the museum quite fast. Well, I´ve never really had any problem with the modern art, but this was slightly an extreme. More likely a parody, really. I prefer the definitions or philosophically deep explanations of the modern art, but the artworks, present in this museum? Nope...it was more likely a comedy and we could not stop laughing. How ridiculous some artworks can get, trying to seriously impress? It was about 85% of the whole museum-sorry not sorry. The cherry on the top, was a guy , in the middle of the exhibition room, sitting on the floor and slowly swinging from side to side. Yep, we pretty much left as soon as we could, we had enough. The last stop in Amsterdam and of the day was the City Light Festival on a boat. V neděli jsme jeli do města, jehož název celý svět vyslovuje špatně do Goudy-ne gOUDY ale CHaudy-Chauda= Gouda. Tady se vyrábí sýr. Všichni si výlet do Goudy chválili. My jsme asi tomuto místu nasadili velkou mušku po návštěvě pestrobarevného Haarlemu. Žádné rebelství momentálně není třeba (mrk mrk)./ On Sunday we went to the place, which the whole world pronounces uncorrectly- Gouda- which is supposed to sound like (Haudaa). This is, where the cheese is being made. Everyone kept sending us to see Gouda, but to be perfectly honest we were not impressed at all. It definitely was unique, but after experiencing the Harrlem´s Christmas spirit- it was unbeatable. It seemed to be quite lonely place-Gouda. After visiting the pinkest café in the whole world, we had to cut the visit off and head back to Den Haag. Back in Den Haag, finally got my very first chance to experience the High tea. Later in the evening, it was a cinema time- Hunger games! What kind of types of gossip are happening a bigger company? Are the topics of the gossip focused more on human relationships, family, health, actual working position and its´ activities?
-“It would definitely be about work the employers do. Which shift haven´t done what they were supposed to do, or not. Also which shift is not working properly and what kind of feedback they have from customers. Also than it would be about the managers of the company, and their new inventions, that they want to try and that they cannot be bothered and that it is a real hard work to do, than speaking of the theory behind the desk.” Did the gossips somehow reach the point, when it had to discussed with the managers of the company? -” No, everyone is way too scared to tell on their own or too careful, just in case something would all of a sudden face against them. And if people push on them, they immediately start to back up and keep saying, that actually did not say anything and just heard about it from someone else.” Did the gossips got sometime so high, that the position of some employer had to be discussed in a matter of losing the job? -” Never, we always do our best to make sure if the actual gossip is truth or not. We cannot afford to hurt someone, without a real proper investigation in the company. It is way much easier since the time, when recording on cameras work.” What is the best way how to deal with the gossip in a new working environment as a new employer of the company? Is it sometime necessary to explain the gossip situation at the working space? -”I do not think it is necessary to highlight it, because every human naturally knows, that it is very natural-the gossips and everyone will find out on their own. Everybody knows, what was the gossip about, what it will be about. One, cannot afford to take these things personally and it is necessary to ignore it. From my own experience, I know that you cannot dismiss the rumours, it just cannot reach some critical level of seriousness, so it is not going to cause a real harm to another person, who might lose the job because of it. Clockwork orange, filmed in 1971. It is a film based on a book by Anthony Burgess, but today, I would like to focus on the film and not on the comparison of a book and the film. I´d like to show you some of the observations, that I have made, not only while watching this film and making notes, but also from my extra research. The research was mostly focused on the purpose of creating this film and why Stanley Kubrick was the only director, who evolved a massive interest in creating this film. He was even more passionate in the films´ distribution, after life threats to him and to his whole family. Artist Stanley Kubrick is an English film director. As a kid, even though he did not have a good grades, he was deeply intelligent. His interest in camera-media started developing, when he got to his 13th birthday a camera. So before, as we know Kubrick being a film director, he became a photographer. In a year 1951, he finally exchanged photography for film and created his first documentaries. His very first completed film was called “ Fear and Desire”, where the context of the film is being set up in an imaginary world, where imaginary war was happening. Kubrick became very known director with a massive sense for perfection and his desire for making the shoot clean and exactly, as he visualized (as I will mention later his ways of using the ankle of the camera). In his time, he was very controversial, forbidden and most of his films were censored. One of his most probably controversial films would be a film “Lolita” based on a Vladimir Nabokov´s book, which had to be redone multiple times in the background checks by authorities not to get Kubrick off the races “way too much”. But actually it was just Clockwork Orange, which was the most scandalous films in a British history, which apparently created insurgency and rebellion on the English streets by young people. Only because of this film, Kubrick and his whole family was under way too many death threats. He asked for not showing the Clockwork Orange on the television, until his death. His very last film was called “Eyes Wide Shut.” Stanley Kubrick died in a sleep, having a heart attack. For his whole career, he won the Academy Prize- the Oscar for his film 2001: The Space Odyssea. “As one of the most universally acclaimed and influential directors of the postwar era, Stanley Kubrick enjoyed a reputation and a standing unique among the filmmakers of his day. A perennial outsider, he worked far beyond the confines of Hollywood, maintaining complete artistic control and making movies according to the whims and time constraints of no one but himself, but with the rare advantage of studio financial support for all of his endeavors. Working in a vast range of styles and genres spanning from black comedy to horror to crime drama, Kubrick was an enigma, living and creating in almost total seclusion, far away from the watchful eye of the media. His films were a reflection of his obsessive nature, perfectionist masterpieces which remain among the most provocative and visionary motion pictures ever made.” (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/stanley_kubrick/biography) Ideology, Worldview and artist´s inspirationKubrick at this point, got inspired, naturally by the book. The book, which was never supposed to be famous and it was him, who got an interest in highlighting the aggression problemacy. It was a dangerous and controversial topic, that none in the 60´s in UK dared to speak about, as it was not brought up to the light completely. People from the West London would not know, how people in the North of London behave and how much the aggression is taking a part in a London´s streets. Stanley Kubrick´s ideology is changing very often. As we can notice in some of his films, he is being pretty judgmental. While Clockwork Orange is quite recognizable, that the idea of the whole shot is taking distance away from the left-sided political parties. “Despite the lack of commitment to a particular world-view, it is generally agreed that Kubrick was fascinated by the possibilities of a supernatural reality, as reflected in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and The Shining (1980).” Kubrick seemed like a person, who enjoyed questioning the aspects of the authorities, in general. He loved to experiment. But a massive pressure came definitely with the public regulation in the UK. Kubrick re-directed his strategy of producing the film and convinced his British distributors to select a narrow release: the film was shown for over a year in only one West End London theater and still appeared to be a behaviour-changing. Intention of the Artwork“The central idea of the film has to do with the question of free-will. Do we lose our humanity if we are deprived of the choice between good and evil? Do we become, as the title suggests, A Clockwork Orange”. from visualmemory.com -(http://www.visual-memory.co.uk/amk/doc/interview.aco.html) In 1960´s it was very fashionable to direct films, which contained sexually abusing scenes, full of aggression and blood. Kubrick wanted to be a little bit more ahead and wanted to highlight a political perception- what exactly was happening on the streets in an unreal world. The idea of the comic appearance of extremist politics, has been presented there mostly as a part of the fearful parody, which was manipulating the main characters in this film. It is definitely a film, which was aiming for disturbing the audience and make them think deeply about that certain generation. The intention of this film would be definitely an interest and focus on the street gangs and violence, revolution and rebellion, which was moving the whole UK in those years. As an example, I would highlight the Beatles´ psychedelic music and their drug experimenting. “Despite Kubrick’s artistic intentions, the film depicts the violent scenes with brutality, and it rapidly attracted controversy, with typical headlines including ‘Coming Shortly, a Film for None of the Family’, ‘What Good Can This Film Possibly Do?’, and ‘Garbage Disguised as Art is Still Garbage’. Tabloid journalists claimed that the film had been responsible for a number of ‘copycat’ crimes including home invasions, rapes, street beatings and murder. Headlines such as ‘Hunt for Clockwork Orange Sex Gang’ began to appear in the press during the 1970s.” from anthonyburgess.com- (http://www.anthonyburgess.org/about-anthony-burgess/a-clockwork-orange-on-film) Economical, Political and Cultural values Political values of Clockwork Orange definitely has to do a lot with the English government between the 60´s and 70´s. A liberal, traditional government facing the brainwashed societies which went through these eras. As time after the Nazi and time of the Communists. Kubrick wants to make a point of the authorities´ power and taking over the crimes in their own way and style.
It evokes a lot of questions about totalitarism and the free will. Kubrick seems to be also on a Nietcheze´s side of the superhuman, when in this case, being a part of the totalitarian scheme is still not normal and closes the natural human being borders. Kubrick is trying to make a point, where people need time to realize what they´ve accepted in their lifes. “The government eventually resorts to the employment of the cruellest and most violent members of the society to control everyone else -- not an altogether new or untried idea.” http://www.visual-memory.co.uk/amk/doc/interview.aco.html ideas of this film mostly come from the book as itself, when it comes to the screenplay. It is definitely also about dynamics, which move the pictures of the screen. Themes of this film are: violence, aggression, sex, blood, authority, rebellion and experimental science. Let´s start with the costumes. Kubrick wanted to highlight the contrast of the massochist white colour, which is worn by the Alex´s gang with bowler hats. The costumes says a lot about, what is the group about, when all of the members wore a wedge protector in the white colour as well. “Sometimes a rock soaring through a plate of glass can be the most beautiful, compelling work of art, I have ever seen.” (But is it Art?- Cynthia Freeland, quote by McGee, p. 112), when it comes to the easiest way of thinking when it came to costumes and the fashion in this film. The vibrant colours made it easier for the audience to lighter the obsessive and overwhelming scenes of rape and attacks. The scenes were purifies by the contrasts of using colourful background, classical music and modern furniture. “The freedom of individuals to make choices becomes problematic when those choices undermine the safety and stability of society, and in A Clockwork Orange, the state is willing to protect society by taking away freedom of choice and replacing it with prescribed good behavior. The importance of evil as well as good in human nature is a fundamental theme of A Clockwork Orange”. (http://www.sparknotes.com/film/clockworkorange/themes.html) Kubrick is an incredible perfectionist and he was very obsessed with the vision that he had on his mind. He apparently was trying to find the best hat for 13 hours, that would perfectly fit the whole gang costume and actors´heads. There is a lot of scenes, which symbolises the power and authority, playing a game with the power of the crime and aggression. It also shows, how much parody the totalitarism involves. The biggest symbol of the whole film would definitely be a scene, where Alex is dancing in the middle of the house assault, called “HOME” and he sings “Singing in the rain”song as a contrast of enjoying the violence and basically “being happy, even when it rains”. The symbolism of a dark pleasure and enjoyment contrasts the real fact, that it was actually happening for real and Alex found a satisfaction in it. It is Kubrick´s obsession and speciality to focus on the geometrics and symmetry in most of the camera ankles. We can notice in so many scenes, which are being divided in a stunning ankles- showing contrasts in the mirroring reflection of the picture. There are also a lot of unreal and very disturbing ankles, like focused camera on a human´s face, from the bottom, which makes it look very uncomfortable and distracting. The colours of the film are changing and they definitely keep your attention. The contrast of black and at the the beginning (filled up with the costumes) and yet a bright colours of the 60´s afterwards made the film appearance confusing and mood changing. In a film, there are very bright dynamics. Changing the motion in the whole picture became very revolutionary, especially after making a sex scene incredibly speeded up, so it cannot offend basically anyone or make Kubrick to cut out the scene. Why do we have an impulsive want to protect ourselves, by judging other people? Is it really necessary? Let´s flip the card and face the worldwide reality of possibilities and choices, that we ALL have, without unecessary authorities in our lifes. It was exactly last summer, when I finally met up after 10 years with my cousin, who was travelling around the whole world. He is living as freegan (a person, who eats food wasted by supermarkets at the end of the day), vegan, anarchist and a “modern beduin”. He lived in Morocco, Denemark, Italy, England and much more. First, I was absolutely shocked and became impulsively judgemental without any reason. But then, I was absolutely fascinated by the amount of possibilities and interests that human might be capable of, without government restrictions (my cousin didn´t touch any money at all when he was in Morocco) and how much you may learn and get more educated by the others. I was all the time wondering if I might be able to stand out that much from my comfort zone, so as he did. People, who do not care about any limits and about any danger and negative aspects, may not be able to experience such a massive way of learning and understanding other cultures. It is not necessary to always have a plan, as the society is being thought. It is not necessary to plan the basic social structure, by getting a degree, get married, have kids and retire happily ever after and watch TV at home. What if you want to end up hiking in Alaska??
The discussion that I had after a while, with my cousin, definitely changed my point of view for the money need and what is society expecting from you. To become an individual and create a brand new comfort zone, which none is used to is extremely hazardous, but definitely experienced to the fullest without feeling sorry for yourself. Jako byste šli do sámošky si koupit studentskou směs: oříšky (tvrdé úkoly), rozinky (časově vytížená sladko-kyselost), dýňová semínka (ano, podzim je fuč, dýně taky, nastává čas Vánoc)./ I am not going to lie to you, this week was literally a student week. As if, you would go grocery shopping and you would get yourself a student´s nut mix: nuts (tasks, driving me nuts), sun dried berries (the sweet- bitter lack of time), pumpkin seeds (yep, the autumn is gone, pumpkins too and it is the Christmas time). /All of the plans I had, worked out from the half. Finally got a chance to make a laundry, but didn´t have a space, where to hung it, so, the clothes were basically alll around the room, when it was raining outside. I got all Christmas presents, but haven´t wrapped them yet. I cooked, but didn´t do dish washing. Cleaned up whole wardrobe, but not a table. I know, this whole thing sounds like a beautiful procrastination, but I promise, these are the most interesting activites, worth writing about. /I´ve also mentioned in a previous article, about the real procrastination-taking random pictures of food and the way I´ve cooked. I was quite delighted from the fact, how absurd and creative I can get, so I basically took a picture of it.ANd of yourse, taking pictures of the turtle babysitting... / On Monday I was strictly trying to get along with the regime. Studying in the morning, studying in the afternoon at the uni´s library and than attending bodypump and body balance. Check, done and done. Nice feeling though. During this week I was still chasing a few professors to show me my previous tests as well. Also finally received full times and dates of my exams happening in January. To v Čechách nepřichází v úvahu, aby např. Granko ( v holandském případě Chocomel) náklaďáček přijel a nabízel studentům produkty zdarma. / Also, I really enjoy all of these promo events, happening inside or outside our uni. It would definitely not happen in Czech Republic for sure, most of the products being given to students for free... /Friday was about masturdating (haha, brilliant word). Gave myself presents for st. Nichola´s day in Czech Republic a turtleneck shirt (a turtle neck!! as i am an anti-turtle neck woman) from Pull & Bear and a Moleskine diary. Yep, next year is going to be very yellow (see pictures). Afterwards, I went to the Haag´s Juni restaurant, which is absolutely brilliant place, where to have a lunch. I got a sun-dried figs and indian chai. simply, super duper. / During my center wander, finally found a Czech Republic´s embassy, really fancy place, I must say. Such a nice villa,in which it was situated (with comparison to the London´s one)! V pátek následoval další školní výlet do haagského parlamentu. / On Friday, here came another school field trip to the Haag´s parliament. It was very unique experience, because not everyone has a chance to check the government´s working places. As we have appeared with our VIP´s necklaces, we got a chnace to see a senate, parliament and the Knight´s hall. This is a place, where most of the important ceremonies were happening at least once a year. / Weekend? Time for a change and studying again. But I feel, that I am literally heading fast towards the finish line. It is not enough of the breath that I do not have, more likely the cold sweat, covering my body, when I am about to go sleep. I realize the clock is ticking and that the day flew by way too fast.
The mornings are about the energetic bombs. I am definitely able to eat tonnes of food for breakfast and I am enjoying it so much. I believe, that it is a main meal of the whole day, and I am trying to focus on it as much as possible. MENU: chia semínka, slunečnicová semínka, lněná semínka, hruška, jablko, khaki, banán a BAM! doleju mandlovým neslazeným mlékem-muah! A všechno to rozmixuji v super hračce- NutriBullet. MENU: chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pear, apple, khaki, banana and BAM! refill with the almond unsweetened milk-muah! And than I mix everything in an amzing toy- NutriBullet Oběd/LunchDnešní oběd byl opět rozmixovaný a jednoduchý! Today´s lunch was once again mixed and super easy! MENU: avokádo, jablko, hruška, špenát a jemný zbytek mrkve MENU: avocado, apple, pear, spinach and a little bit of carrot Večeře/DinnerRychlé nevaření a dušení! Nakrájet a smíchat do sebe, toť vše!
Quick uncooking and steaming! Cut, mix together and that is all! Jeden z mála dárečků do vašich přenosných přehrávačů. Ne, nečekejte "Last Christmas". Rudimental- We the GenerationTohle jsou hvězdy Anglie. These are the UK´s stars. From Mercury to Brit Awards, they totally got, what you need when you feel down in the morning. These guys are my favourite, because the yod not stick to one thing, they keep experimenting and to be present at their concert is magnificent experience (makes you jump....a lot). Frankie & The Witch Fingers- RevivalTuhle kapelu jsem našla omylem skrz reklamu-samozřejmě. I´ve found this band by accident, naturally, via an ad. Wanna be 70´s are bursting with the nostalgic inspiration all around. Their music will set you free out of the (sometimes extremely) useless extra sounds. I know, I know. Nope, never been a fan of this person, but somehow he cut a way right into my ears. After a critical puberty and the extreme pressure from the fame, the (not so little) Biever is back, and he is finally building his own dam. So far, what I´ve heard from his new album, is quite exquisite and I would give him a one last chance, until he won´t start singing (?) about his awesomness. This track is more about the video, really, which is absolutely fantastic and it is a hard work to get it out of your head. Joe Hisaishi- First LoveJako by toho Japonska nebylo málo. There won´t never be enough of Japan. This absolutely genial composer creates music for the anime studio Ghibli. From these studios, you will definitely know the very essential films as Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke. This composition is clearly individual and it never been in any of the films.Definitely will take away your attention, even though you are not the biggest fan of the classical music- and it´s brilliant for studying. American jazz singer, who has been around for quite a long time and I can´t believe that I´ve discovered her a couple weeks ago! This winsome beauty can play on multiple musical instruments. She has 4 Grammy awars on her´s account. As a very fisrt jazz artist, she won the absolute award for The best new artist. Gregory Alan Isakov- Big Black CarA k bluesu přidáme trochu folku.Tohle je hudba, kterou uslyšíte v dobré kavárně. V téhle písničce uslyšíte praskat krb a ucítíte teplé ponožky se sobama. Now, we add some more folk to that blues. This music you might hear in a typical good café. In this song you might hear a fireplace cracking and also feel fluffy socks with reindeers. John Williams- Somewhere in my memoryTohle je možná ta nejznámější vánoční skladba dětí z 90. let. This is probably the most known Christmas composition of the 90´s kids. Home Alone is a legendary Chritmas "fairy tale", right after Grinch. Nostalgia works all the time. Chuck Berry- Roll over BeethovenKlasický král Rock´n Rollu. A very classical king of the Rock´n Roll. Legend, which is unforgettable and shapes the whole Back to the Future film. He was a rebel since puberty, when during high school, he was send to the prison for a robbery. The magazine Rolling Stones labelled him as one of the best guitarists of all time. Frank SinatraNebyly by to Vánoce bez Franka. Přikládám celé album, protože jediná skladba nestačí :-) It wouldn´t be a Christmas time without Frank. I can´t help myself, but this artist equals a Christmas tree, firecrackers and infinite calmness. Probably the most influential artist of the 20th century with damaged eardrum, who was hanging out with Marilyn Monroe. I am adding the whole album, because one track is not enough :-) |
